On the south-eastern coast of Majorca, you can find Portocolom, one of the most charming villages on the island, which belongs to the municipal district of Felanitx. It’s a traditional fishing village fit for a postcard and is located around a uniquely shaped bay. The lighthouse and the boats, used for fishing and leisure, that are anchored along its dock are just some of the features that give this village a natural beauty that enchants every visitor that comes here for the first time.
The port was developed at the beginning of the 18th century as a shelter for vessels, but the biggest changes came for tourism purposes in the 1960s, with the construction of hotels and homes.
Beach lovers can go to Cala Marcal, Portocolom’s main beach, which has been awarded a blue flag. Its white sand and crystal-clear waters are a popular destination for families. Close by, you can also find s’Arenal Gran and s’Arenal Petit. On the other hand, if you are interested in history, don’t miss the Closos de Can Gaià, an archaeological site with a Bronze Age settlement (1700–850 BC).
All of this and much more awaits you at Iberostar Heritage Llum Portocolom, a boutique hotel that shows Majorca at its most authentic.
