All-Inclusive Hospitality Brand Receives Recognition for Environmentally Friendly Policies at Eight Properties
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts recently received the esteemed Green Globe certification for three properties in Jamaica and five in Mexico, further showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainable development. One of the most recognized environment certification systems in the world, the award honors dedication to environmental conservation as well as social and cultural responsibility in the tourism industry.
"Iberostar is honored to have its Jamaica and Mexico properties presented the Green Globe certification and remains dedicated to promoting policies that support sustainable development," said John Long, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the brand. "We aim to provide our guests with the highest level of service and customer satisfaction and we believe that that includes implementing environmental initiatives throughout our properties."
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has recently executed a number of policies in support of eco-friendly development including, optimizing energy resources, reducing water consumption, and recycling PET, cardboard, aluminum and other materials. Additionally, Iberostar has activated several changes to the internal infrastructure in their Jamaica and Mexico resorts, which has resulted in better storage and disposal of biodegradable material and recyclable products.
"We are very proud of the Green Globe recognition for all Iberostar properties in Montego Bay, Jamaica," said Philipp Hofer, Iberostar Rose Hall Complex Director. "The certification speaks to the brand’s commitment to remain environmentally-conscious of this beautiful island while providing the best possible service to our guests."
Recognized properties include the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, and Iberostar Rose Hall Beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica, as well as the Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf & Spa Resort complex in Riviera Maya, Mexico, which is comprised of the Iberostar Grand Paraíso, Iberostar Paraíso Maya, Iberostar Paraíso Lindo, Iberostar Paraíso Beach and Iberostar Paraíso del Mar. These hotels are joined in the esteemed ranking with the Iberostar Cozumel, in Cozumel, Mexico, and the Iberostar Tucán and Iberostar Quetzal in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, which were awarded the Green Globe certification two years ago.
Earlier this year, Iberostar revealed the latest addition to its Mexico hotel portfolio with the announcement of the Iberostar Playa Mita in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The brand will debut the Premium Gold property in December 2013. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts currently offers 18 properties in Mexico and the Caribbean, ranging from the adults-only Grand Collection to couple-and family-friendly Premium Gold and Premium category resorts, together offering a variety of ideal locations for memorable vacation experiences.
