Iberostar Selection Lisboa, the Iberostar Hotels & Resorts network’s first hotel in Portugal, strengthens the Majorcan chain’s expansion into the international urban hotel sector, and from 5 October it will offer a 5-star experience in the heart of the city.
Located in central Lisbon’s business and shopping area, Iberostar Selection Lisboa is situated on Rua Castilho, a few minutes from Praça Marquês de Pombal and Avenida Liberdade, in one of the capital’s most exclusive districts.
Designed by the Capinha Lopes studio, Iberostar Selection Lisboa is a luxury 5-star hotel with modern, contemporary and sophisticated architecture that harmonises with the surrounding urban space and light. Its 166 rooms in a range of types – 1 Royal Suite, 2 Suites, 8 Junior Suites, 153 Double rooms and 2 rooms for guests with reduced mobility – are comfortable spaces where guests can enjoy views of Lisbon, whether travelling for leisure or business.
All rooms feature the normal amenities: minibar, safe, TV, USB plugs and free Wi-Fi. To make all guests feel special and ensure they lack nothing, Iberostar Selection Lisboa offers a personalised and exclusive 24-hour service.
At Iberostar Selection Lisboa, everyone can sample and enjoy the unique flavours of Portugal and the world in a wide range of cuisine, tailored to all occasions and palates, always adapted to the seasonal offer, created by the Executive Chef Jorge Fernandes. The 'Luz' restaurant, boasts unique light and has space for approximately 150 diners (including indoors and outdoors). The sophisticated Iberostar Selection Lisboa also features somewhere to rejuvenate the body and soul – the wellness centre and SPA Sensations, where you can enjoy the relaxing effects of a body massage or a refreshing facial treatment. As well as this space, there is also a gym, hairdressers, sauna, Turkish bath, bithermal shower, aromatherapy shower, solarium and an indoor swimming pool with a whirlpool bath area and water jets, with views of the exterior.

The Ballroom is one of two large rooms that are ideal for major events. It is perfect for a romantic wedding or the most exclusive business events. It comprises an area of almost 300m2 that can be divided into three spaces or one large multi-purpose room, supported by a 200m2 lobby, that can be adapted for various types of social or corporate events, such as conferences, drinks receptions, presentations, workshops and private parties.
The modern but stylish decoration of the different spaces is the work of Renata Laranjo of Silverfield. For Iberostar Selection Lisboa, her team favoured Portuguese materials and light colours, creating settings that are sophisticated, but above all comfortable, inspired by Portugal’s soul while seeking elements of local and national culture.
