TENNIS CHAMPION DAVID FERRER MIXES TRAINING AND RELAXATION AHEAD OF U.S. OPEN AT Iberostar GRAND HOTEL PARAISO IN RIVIERA MAYA

Spanish tennis star David Ferrer, currently ranked third in the world by the Association of Tennis Players (ATP), is enjoying a well-deserved holiday at the luxurious JOIA Paraíso by Iberostar in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. David has come to the resort to enjoy its five-star amenities and take advantage of its world-class tennis facility.

With his innate talent for the sport, David Ferrer has won the Masters title at the Masters 1000 Paris 2012, has seven ATP 500 titles and competed in 12 ATP 250 tournaments. He most recently competed in the Roger’s Cup in Montreal, Canada. Said Ferrer, "I need to keep training every day so I can better prepare for the U.S. Open. The hotel’s courts are in excellent condition and meet professional requirements, which is important."

This is not the first time that Ferrer has stayed at the resort. He is a frequent guest who returns time after time for the tranquil atmosphere, which lends itself to relaxation and recharging his mind and body. Stated Ferrer, "I like the hotel’s first-class facilities, the food is excellent, and the staff are always so pleasant and welcoming with a smile."

The renowned tennis player also commented, "The days of rest at the Iberostar help me to prepare for tournaments as I can combine daily physical training on practice courts with moments of relaxation. Also, being able to unwind by the sea helps me to feel totally disconnected from my rigorous training routine."

The JOIA Paraíso by Iberostar is located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, a coveted area of the Caribbean known for its tropical beauty and white sand beaches. The adults-only hotel’s stunning design combines the casual outdoor comforts of the beach with the opulent architecture of a majestic palace. Among the hotel’s many amenities are six fast surface tennis courts, three pools, a fitness center, gourmet restaurants and Spa Sensations – all spread out around the jungle enclosed grounds.

Stated Ferrer, "The first time I was at the JOIA Paraíso by Iberostar, I was walking to breakfast and a huge iguana crossed my path. It totally startled me. Then I realized it was harmless and that the wildlife is part of the appeal of the Riviera Maya and the hotel. I love coming to Mexico. The beautiful beaches and the rich architectural treasures of the Mayan civilization are worth the trip."
