Agadir is a magnificent city in southwestern Morocco, located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, 508 km south of Casablanca, 235 km west of Marrakech and 173 km from Essaouira. It is the last big city in the south of the country and the sixth largest in the country, after Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Marrakech and Tangier, and is known for its marvellous coastline and for the vibrant and varied cultural and leisure activities on offer, attracting visitors from all over the world year after year.
Despite having been devastated by an earthquake in 1960, it was completely rebuilt and has managed to consolidate itself as one of the most visited areas on the Moroccan coast.
