All-Inclusive Hospitality Brand Receives Recognition for Environmentally Friendly Policies at Eight Properties
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts recently received the esteemed Green Globe certification for three properties in Jamaica and five in Mexico, further showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainable development. One of the most recognized environment certification systems in the world, the award honors dedication to environmental conservation as well as social and cultural responsibility in the tourism industry.

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has recently executed a number of policies in support of eco-friendly development including, optimizing energy resources, reducing water consumption, and recycling PET, cardboard, aluminum and other materials. Additionally, Iberostar has activated several changes to the internal infrastructure in their Jamaica and Mexico resorts, which has resulted in better storage and disposal of biodegradable material and recyclable products.

Recognized properties include the JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar, Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites, and Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica, as well as the Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf & Spa Resort complex in Riviera Maya, Mexico, which is comprised of the JOIA Paraíso by Iberostar, Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites Suites Suites Suites Suites Suites Suites Suites, Iberostar Selection Paraíso Lindo, Iberostar Waves Paraíso Beach and Iberostar Waves Paraíso del Mar. These hotels are joined in the esteemed ranking with the Iberostar Waves Cozumel, in Cozumel, Mexico, and the Iberostar Waves Tucán and Iberostar Waves Quetzal in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, which were awarded the Green Globe certification two years ago.
Earlier this year, Iberostar revealed the latest addition to its Mexico hotel portfolio with the announcement of the Iberostar Selection Playa Mita in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The brand will debut the Premium Gold property in December 2013.
