Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will be opening the Iberostar Selection Sábila, a five-star, adults-only hotel located on southern Tenerife’s Costa Adeje. The new hotel is the product of a complete renovation of the property that formerly housed the Iberostar Torviscas Playa. Following a year’s work and an investment of more than 40 million euros, the Iberostar Selection Sábila reflects Iberostar’s determination to offer first class products, and its commitment to the Canary Islands as a leading tourist destination.
Iberostar completely renovated the property in line with its location on the seafront, and to develop an exciting new hotel concept, offering premium service to appeal to all five senses and to evoke a myriad of emotions. The name Iberostar Selection Sábila comes from Sabaira, a word of Arabic origin, whose scientific name is ‘aloe’. Southern Tenerife, in particular the area around Mount Teide, offers ideal conditions for growing aloe vera. The island’s special ties with production of this plant and the many benefits it offers the body are the reasons behind the choice of name for this hotel, and the plant’s presence can be seen and felt in multiple details around the hotel, ranging from the spa treatment options available, to its gastronomic choices and even the décor. Guests are guaranteed a relaxing and regenerating experience in unique surroundings.
The hotel boasts 472 rooms of varying types, including standard and superior doubles, as well as eight junior suites. There are also 33 ‘Wellness’ rooms, where amenities include a chromotherapy shower, a kettle for making tea and coffee, and Wellness bits & bites – a range of appetisers including detox teas, bio biscuits, smoothies, walnuts and fresh fruit -, as well as a choice of aromas and free admission to the Spa.
The Iberostar Selection Sábila offers exclusive Star Prestige access, a premium service enabling guests to enjoy superior category rooms, a personalised check-in and check-out and special concierge services. Guests choosing this option are also welcome to use the rooftop Star Prestige Sky Lounge and its facilities, including its own reception, open bar, pool, Jacuzzi and two sun terraces furnished with Bali and sun beds, complete with stunning sea views.
The company will position the Iberostar Selection Sábila at the forefront of culinary innovation in southern Tenerife. Facilities at the hotel include a food market with a number of stalls, each with their own unique character and specialising in meat, fish, ham and cheese; tapas, appetisers and omelettes; cured meats and pickles; Asian dishes and desserts. There are two additional areas: one for live music and a second outdoor area with a bar, for guests to enjoy delicious cocktails while admiring the breath-taking sunsets. Facilities at the Iberostar Selection Sábila also include the Café Bar, with food to take away and a select list of products suitable for coeliacs, as well as a Lobby Bar and a Pool Bar.
On the beachfront at Torviscas, the Iberostar Selection Sábila offers guests the chance to enjoy a wide range of water sports. The hotel’s sports facilities include a fully-equipped fitness room where guests can take part in Star Fit & Fun programme activities such as yoga, Pilates and tai chi against a backdrop of breath-taking sea views. The Spa Sensations completes the hotel’s range of wellness options thanks to the spacious facilities and a selection of exclusive treatments. The Iberostar Selection Sábila also offers excellent entertainment and leisure options. A highlight is the area equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including a rest and relaxation zone as well as a number of giant screens, PCs and tablets for guests’ use.
