Meet Hotel Digital, the first open innovation project in the tourism sector
This ambitious project brings together 25 key companies on a national and international level.
Hotel Digital is the first open innovation project in the tourism sector in Spain. This project falls under our Digitisation Strategy, activating internal and external company resources through the integration of an innovation methodology into the day-to-day life of hotels and their guests.

Our goal is for Hotel Digital to provide clear, tangible benefits for our guests, achieving quality and service excellence that go hand-in-hand with technology and digitisation. We believe this project will also provide business value that generates new opportunities for Iberostar”, said Tomeu Bennasar, CIO of Iberostar Group.
During the first year of the project’s life, we have implemented some initiatives at our hotels. The first, Chromecast, is already available at 10 hotels in EMEA, with the aim of implementing it at 36 hotels by the end of this year. Users can use this device to enjoy all their phone’s applications on the TV in their room. In addition, projects such as the E-Guest Manager, a tool to manage all customer service requests, as well as different waste management tools are starting to be implemented in some hotels, helping us to achieve our 2025 goal of being waste-free.
