"We had a fantastic stay! The three things that stand out in our mind are the great service, luxurious pool and grounds, and access to the beach. We have also stayed at another highly rated resort in Punta Cana and it does not compare to this place. We would definitely like to come back"

"Excellant service all around first floor room was musty smelling-the fix was to bring in an oil burning scent to cover oder main bar in lobby would make a great place to meet friends and talk but most often the entertainment was so loud we could not hear ourselves most people I saw at this resort were 50 and up who I would say no not like LOUD music, piano bar would be perfect The food was beautifully presented and very abundent If I had to guess the hotel wastes a great deal of food because much of it did not deliver on flavor. I could take whatever looked good and if it was not tasty it got tossed.I would eventually find plenty to get full. The Japanese restaurant for example must have a Spanish chef with Dominicans doing their best to pull it off , didn't work for me.Dominicans have no idea what Japanese food is supposed to taste like. Similar experiences with other theme restaurants. Surf and turf was the best,American steaks, seafood and potatoes, rice and vegtables.Hard to go wrong. I have 40 years in the restaurant business with a certified chef certificate so I am probably more critical than most.On a scale of 1-10 I would give the food a 7,which is probably better than most all inclusive resorts. If I had to guess,Miguel would like to see his rating on food 8.5-9.0 and with lower food costs. There are consultants that could be hired to accomplish this. After talking with the food and bev manager,I understand that the hotel is enjoying 87% average occupancy throughout the year. These kind of numbers are fantastic.Comes down to how passionate one is to be the "best" vs. if we're making money leave it alone. "This visit was as good as the first. The entire staff at this location is just fantastic any company could construct a facility just as well as the Grand but the entire staff makes for a wonderful stay. The selection of food and beverages above and beyond, something for everyone. The structures and grounds are so very well maintained it is the attention to detail that is so impressive. Special mention to Henry a fantastic butler with Henry you will lack for NOTHING. The gourmet restaurants managed by Antonio and Loraine DO NOT miss a visit when they are present and you will not be disappointed at least we were not. Praise for the entire staff. "

"The following review was posted on TripAdvisor: “GRAND VACATION EXPERIENCE” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 4 weeks ago “GRAND VACATION EXPERIENCE” My wife and I just returned from a six night stay at the all-inclusive Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. WOW, what a “Grand Vacation Experience”. Based on reading the excellent reviews that guests have posted with TripAdvisor, we booked a stay at the resort in September. TripAdvisor ranked the Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel the number one resort in Punta Cana. Additionally, the resort appealed to us because it was an adult resort (18 and over). We are both in our 60’s. We noticed that most guests to be between the ages of 35 to 70. My wife and I have been cruising and vacationing at all-inclusive resorts for years. We have found our previous vacations enjoyable and relaxing. By far, we have to say that the Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel exceeded our expectations for service and comfort. During our visit, we were treated like royalty by the employees of the resort. Every employee that we met from top to bottom was the friendliest that we have ever encountered while on vacation. After a few days at the resort you develop a personal connection with the service personnel. Upon arrival at the resort the bellman greets you with a cool towel to refresh yourself, while checking-in you are provided with a cool beverage. We arrived a few hours early but we were allowed immediate access to our room. Once in our well-appointed room we were greeted by our butlers Luis, and later Henry who catered to our every need, from making dinner reservations to ensuring our bar was stocked with our favorite beverages. Personnel: By far, the personnel who work at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel are its greatest asset. They are very friendly and willing to provide service. Throughout the day employees regularly approach you to inquire if they can be of service to you. You want for nothing Room: We were assigned an exterior garden view room overlooking an adjacent Iberostar resort. We would have preferred an ocean view room, but the resort was booked solid by the time we arrived. In the future we will book an ocean view or ocean front room at the time we make our reservations. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The resort caters to travelers from around the world so the TV in the room has programs from stations from all around the world. Food & Beverage: The resort operates the following four a la carte restaurants; El Galeon Surf and Turf, Le Toubillon Gourmet (French), Hashira Japanese, and the La Tentazione Italian. We ate at each of the restaurants and found all of our meals to be delicious, and well prepared... On our last night at the resort we ate at the Bella Vista Buffet Restaurant. Each day we spent most of our days lounging around the pool. In the morning and afternoon, we ate breakfast and lunch at the Perla Restaurant de Playa, which is located next to pool and the Larimar Aqua Bar. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of breakfast foods, which included caviar and fresh squeezed juices. The lunch buffet daily featured crab legs, lobster tails and steaks. All of the bars at the resort served the finest grade liquors, beer and wine. Unlike a cruise vacation, alcoholic beverages and sodas are included in the price of your stay. The food and the beverages at the resort are all “Top Shelf”. The resort provides 24 hour room for its guest. You want for nothing. Beach & Pool: The resort is located on a beautiful beach. However, we choose to spend most of our time at the pool. The resort was booked solid and I feared that there may not have been a shortage of lounge chairs and cabanas. To my surprise, the resort had enough lounge chairs and cabanas for everyone. The resort even provided a variety of sunbathing products and reading material at the pool. The resort provided poolside concierge service to supply guests with beverages and attend to their needs from the pool bar. The bar was busy from early in the morning to sunset. Entertainment: Each the resort offered nightly entertainment. The shows were performed each night at 10:00 pm, and lasted about an hour. The shows were amateur, but entertaining. We especially enjoyed the Michael Jackson show. The performer who portrayed Michael Jackson was excellent. His resemblance to Michael Jackson and his ability to move like him was the best impersonation of a star that I have ever seen. Spa: On our last day at the resort we pampered ourselves with an 80 minute couples message. Our masseuses Yahaira and Diana did an excellent job massaging our bodies. Later that evening, our butler ran a relaxing bubble bath lined with rose pedals, candles, and a bottle of champagne. Bubble bath was a very romantic end to a relaxing day. Tipping: Because the service at the resort was so exceptional, we along with other guests routinely tipped the employees. However, tipping is not necessary. Some guests did not tip the employees, but they appeared to receive the same level of service as the guests that did tip the employees. As a matter of policy, we tip service personnel when we receive excellent service. Overall, the six nights that we spent at the resort was by far the best vacation we have ever experienced, our visit was truly a restful and peaceful, “GRAND VACATION EXPERIENCE”. It is no wonder the resort is often fully booked. Many of the guests that we met had indicated that they had stayed at the resort previously. While others had indicated that they had visited other Iberostar Grand Resort Hotels. Needless to say, we can’t wait to visit the Grand Bavaro Resort again next year. We stayed at the resort, January 12-18, 2014, and traveled as a couple. "

"This was my first and only stay in Punta Cana, well this is going to be hard to beat. Love the service we received and the fact that no kids were running around was just sublime. "
