The food could be imnproved: steak was tough, fish and shrimp not good,

"The stay at Iberostar was and has been always great (we've vacationed there about 5-6 times since 2004). The only thing which could be improved is the food. Some of the specialty restaurants could be better: the fish was not great nor was the steak or Japanese restaurants. Otherwise, we love staying with Iberostar Tucan. The people are great and most helpful."

Great spring break!

"Our family went to the Tucan for spring break. Our sons are both college age. We all loved the resort. The animals were fun to watch, the food was very good, and the beach was beautiful. We found the beds comfortable, not too firm. We stayed in building 19, and it was very quiet. (We had asked for a quiet building- this wasn't a great view- the street, but was very restful). We don't go on vacation to sit in our rooms, so the view wasn't a problem. Housekeeping was great, (Balbina) and left beautiful towel sculptures every day. There were so many little details we appreciated. Like a big golf umbrella in the closet, which came in handy on the one day it rained. We took it with us to 5th Avenue shopping. And there is a rack on the balcony so you can dry out your wet swimsuits. These were little things, perhaps, but showed you that they put some thought into our comfort. Food: We liked the buffet food, and enjoyed the Japanese and Mexican specialty restaurants. (We also loved Yaxche, a restaurant in Playa del Carmen that serves Mayan style cuisine. Delicious and great service.) We took part in some of the activities at the resort- yoga and airgun tournaments. Maurizio taught the yoga and stretching classes. He was great. We also used the "internet café", which is a little computer room with two desktops in it. It was very handy for our needs. The CC reps, Edwin and Katherine, were awesome! They answered all sorts of questions for us, and recommended an excursion to XPLOR. It was the most fun day we have ever had. If you enjoy being active, go! We are very pleased with everything about our trip to the Tucan. "

?

"We found this hotel lacking in so many ways.Having to pay for wifi and internet services was a total turnoff, especially when paying $40.+ for 7 days of service & not getting ANY reception 3/4 of the time. When reported to front desk, all we got was, "We're sorry, but the it must be down". No compensation, refund,or anything else. Most of the other hotels along the strip had free wifi included in the cost of the hotel. We didn't find out about the access to free jacuzzi at the spa until 2 days before we left.(We stayed 14 days) Most days, the refrigerator wasn't replenished with waters.Only "Coke" was put in fridge. Food at buffets tasted the same daily. Not NEARLY enough lounge chairs around pools or at the beach. For hotels that large, there should have been at least double the amount of chairs. We expecially HATED the SMOKING everywhere,on the beach,at the pools, front entrances,in front of restaurants, etc!(I am allergic to smoke). We ended up with food poisoning, even though we did not use the tap water for brushing teeth, and drank only bottled waters. We just got the feeling of so much inadequacy at this place. The general staff like the maid, kitchen staff, servers, etc. were usually friendly & very helpful. However,I think they were just TOO BUSY! There is so much more to comment on......"

Highly Recommended and will be back

"My daughter and I had the privilege to travel to Mexico the first week of March and stayed at the Iberostar Tucan. What a beautiful resort, loved the layout and natural surroundings. The colourful rooms were clean and spacious with a nice balcony to sit and relax. Enjoyed the open air restaurant, large variety of food and great and friendly service. Large warm pool and nice beach area to hang out. Loved the activities offered during the day and the show in the evening. The Starfriends were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had an awesome holiday."
