Overall fun, filling and a great place to stay

"I had a great time and was happy with everything offered at the hotel. We heard "others" comment as to how their hotel was better, and offered more.....but, for us, it was perfect. It seemed like all needs were met, and the grounds were clean and well maintained. We saw tiles being replaced, cleaned, and taken care of all around the pool. The bartenders did a Great job keeping tract of who's next in line, and served everyone quickly. I loved asking for their specialties, which all seemed to have. The Star Friends were more than friendly. Not sure how they stay that upbeat, motivated, and friendly day after day. Barbie and lemonhead (Fresh Lemon) spent a lot of time having fun with our group. It was nice going to the evening shows, with SO many dancers and singers rotating throughout the week (including many of the local Star Friends). The shows that seemed to be the best was dancing, and singing were the focus. Lots of talent there! The dating game show was rather boring, and seemed to be more of a pool type show. Food was very good, and plentiful! They did a great job on the wedding we attended, with all ends taken care of, and it ran smoothly. What a view of the couple while saying their vows. It was REAL nice that they piled big rocks just off the beach for fish and sea life to grow and hide. It seemed like every time I would go out to snorkel, I's see something different. I saw a few big "Puffers", a eel, a sea snake, a couple small rays, a couple star fish, along with Many fish. What a way to start a day! "

"Had a great time, very clean, food good, staff pleasant the star friends were very friendly and fun. There could have been more activities for children ages 10-17 especially at night and better selection of liquor at the bars. We would recommend this resort to others."

We would definitely go back to Iberostar Hotel in Jamaica.

"We loved the Iberostar Hotel in Jamaica. The entertainment staff is so much fun. They are truly an amazing group of people. Food was great with a huge variety. Rooms were very clean. Overall, the friendliest people at a resort we have ever experienced. "

May 20-27 2012: Would stay here in a heartbeat!

"The resort was great. The "star friends" were very entertaining - shout out to Monique (Trainee). The bar service at the pool bar was great, but in the lobby it was VERY SLOW - shout out to SANTINO! The pool was an infinity pool that looked right onto the beach. The beach, as I had read before I came, needed more sand, but it was enough to have a great beach experience. There was no real problems with getting chairs at the beach or the pool. Reservations for dinner should be made the first day you arrive - they tend to book up VERY quickly. I would take a look at the menu before just reserving one at each place - we did not like the Cajun menu and so we did one at the Steakhouse and two at the Japanese House (which I wish I could have eaten there EVERY night!) The breakfast and lunch buffets were the same everyday, but there was something for everyone there! The actual hotel room was a bit humid but once in the room the A/C came on and the fan was moving so it cooled down quickly. The views were great from the room and room service was a pretty good option if needed (but if ordering at dinner time expect a LONG wait!). Our group consisted of three couples so we wanted to explore everything. We went to the end of the Beach Hall resort and went into "shops" that were tents on the beach - we learned to haggle right away. DO NOT GO THERE IN A GROUP LESS THAN FOUR!!! It can be very overwhelming! The resort offers free kayaking and snorkling but the hours are funny so go check that out in the beginning. There was a scuba diving lesson offered for free at the pool two times a day and I suggest using that because you never know when you might want to scuba dive and FREE lessons are at a great price! Get involved in the events that they have running each day! I won a t-shirt and a hat for playing in two games! The resort shops have most of the items that you see at all the other shops for about the same price but limited options - if you don't want to bring money off the resort than its a good idea to buy from there for keepsakes (the resort is great because it allows you to use a safe in the room where you pick your own combination). Our group wanted to wait until we arrived and saw the weather to decide on our excursions. Though it said it was supposed to rain all week, it was mostly overcast and when it wasn't it was hot and sunny! We used the travel agents in the hotel and they direct you to the best trips - if you want to go to Dunes River Falls then do the boat trip!! It was $115 a person for: a bus ride to the boat launch where they gave you lunch and bathrooms to use, shops were there on the site if you wanted to buy something (pretty good prices) and then you get on the boat - go out about a mile and get out the boat and snorkle in the coral!! It was AMAZING! and then you get back on the boat which takes you to the falls where a guided tour is given - HAVE A WATER CAMERA FOR ALL OF THIS!! - then you return home on the boat where drinks and dancing occur to the bus and then home (10am-630pm). The other excursion we bought was to Negril - you take a bus to the Margarittaville in Negril where you are at the beach, can eat and do water sports - then to the shops where SHOP #10 is the best but always crowded! - and then to RICK's CAFE where you get to see the most beautiful sunset in the world and go CLIFF DIVING!! It was amazing to feel the rush of jumping! Our group also went to the Margarittaville in Montego Bay but during the daytime by taking a taxi off the resort - we had Taxi Offical take us and they were great! This Margarittaville was different from the Negril one because there was a slide from the restaurant into the water with a TON of water toys to jump and play on - great for families and all! Overall this was a GREAT time and I would DEFINITELY stay here again!"
