Shopping: United States

It is very likely that vacationers traveling to the United States will not be returning home empty-handed. The sheer number of options – from the affordable to the opulent – is one of the reasons America is included among the world’s great shopping destinations.

  • Malls and outlets are hugely popular destinations for tourists looking to shop for themselves, a significant other or their relatives. A large number of apparel, home goods and personal accessories can be browsed in locations such as Minnesota’s Mall of America – the country’s largest – and Miami’s Aventura Mall.
  • High-end fashion districts can be found in the United States’ most cosmopolitan cities. New York City’s Fifth Avenue, Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, Newbury Street in Boston, and the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami Beach are a few of the locales where upscale designer boutiques sell their glamorous wares.
  • Souvenirs. No vacation to the United States is complete without a souvenir or two. Major metropolitan areas are lined with shops offering keepsakes that reflect their cityscapes, popular landmarks and the familiar American flag. In addition, local independent stores often sell handmade artisan goods infused with the region’s culture.
