We work tirelessly to move beyond plastics and toward a circular economy by reducing waste and single-use plastics, while continuing to improve and elevate our guests’ experience and the quality of their stay. By doing so, Iberostar is taking steps toward invoking its own circular economy within the tourism sector. 

We are establishing standards for responsibly sourced seafood while ensuring gastronomic excellence. We work hand in hand with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) to guarantee the traceability and sustainability of our products. Iberostar is the first hotel chain in Europe, Mexico and the Dominican Republic to be awarded Chain of Custody certification for MSC and ASC products.

We strive to set the standard for how the private sector helps preserve coastal ecosystems and the services they provide businesses. Iberostar supports and sets up projects, each of which is based on extensive scientific research and focuses on the communities that depend on these ecosystems. Our projects revolve around the discovery, protection and restoration of seagrasses, mangroves and coral reefs surrounding our properties.
