    "Overall a good experience. Planning on a trip Jan 2018 with our adult kids"

    Staff was overall superb. Rita cleaned our room and she was very good. Enjoyed the various towel animals left. Service on beach/bars were great. Ana and Ximena in particular were very good to deal with. Dive instr Jose was phenomenal - aren't Iberostar but... Food overall was good. Chef Rodrigo was very personable/friendly. David helped us move/with suit cases a number of times. Very friendly, professional and efficient.

    Needed to do a better job of getting the outdoor music around the pool area to play to keep people entertained and also the pool closing hours need to be moved up later, no more pool time after 7pm was ridiculous.

    Last but not least, we would like to mention that our pools have a specific internal program to control of water quality in the pools and ideal chemical parameters have been effectively maintained in order to assure the safety and health of our swimming pool users for this reason the schedule is 7am until 7pm to have the correct treatment with chemicals.

    The lunch buffet food quality was poor. Every time I ate at that buffet I got sick. All food at the buffet was luke warm temperature making the odds of food borne illness high. I would seriously examine this aspect of your operation. The main buffet and theme restaurants were better in this regard. The general room quality was not good. Mattresses were very warn and stiff. Paint all over the room was flaking and we had a swarm of ants in our bathroom. We won't return to this hotel again.

    As per the food comments, we are saddened to read it was not of your liking. We have one main buffet for dinner where we offer a vast variety of different international dishes, please let us clarify that our Executive Chef and his team of cooks work with fresh ingredients in order to provide variety and quality to our worldwide guests.

    In addition we lament hearing you was sick, we would like to clarify for you and the rest of the online community, that our company has a very strict Health & Safety policy, and apart from an in-house H&S Department, we get regular control audits from an external company called Saniconsult. A variety of causes could be associated with an ailment such as change of climate, consumption of alcohol, the change of food and water type, or even catching a stomach bug from another guest. 

    Again, we are very sorry that your overall experience did not live up to your expectations. We thank you for the time you took out of your day to inform us of these inadequacies you experienced during your stay. We sincerely hope that you will allow us another opportunity to demonstrate our true level of hospitality.

    Overall the experience at this resort was excellent with the exception being the room. Our room was very musty and damp. Both my wife and I have returned with bronchial issues that may be attributed to the room. We did consider to request a room change, however, seeing as we were only there for a week we decided to stay. Should we return again and if the room was once again musty and damp we would definitely request a room change. Stayed in room 3101.

    We took good note of your comments about the smelled, some areas might smell moldy without the actual mold being present, Cozumel has an average humidity of 85% which can cause a musty smell and mold. But our front desk staff is always available to assist you with any request or room change.

    Great staff, beautiful atmosphere with lush plants, cool animals. Beach area & pool are fun & comfortable. The food is abundant & is good to great. In 5 years of staying there things continue to improve - an emphasis on repairs, additional services like daily beach lunches and free internet. So easy to relax & enjoy this place.

    We tried the Pagoda, Tex-Mex, and Steak house theme restaurants. The first two were great in all ways. The Steakhouse had excellent service, drinks and salad bar. The steaks were a little disappointing. Large portions, but not top quality

    Overall I enjoyed my stay. I enjoyed the food and the service. Unfortunately, the thermostat in my room only turned on for off. It did not adjust with the temperature so I had to turn thermostat on and off to regulate the temperature in the room.

    Overall fantastic. Bed was not flat and difficult for a bad back. little bugs in bathroom. room was damp despite constant full running air conditioning. during bad rain lots of water came in rooms.

    Although we were sincerely saddened to read that we were not able to make your stay at our IBEROSTAR Cozumel as enjoyable as it could have been, we thank you for the time you took out of your day to share your feelings on your overall holiday experience among us.

    We are very concerned to read about your health problem. We would like to inform you that IBEROSTAR follows strict internal and external health and safety controls. We have a Health & Safety Department which works in association with a professional independent company, to supervise all our hygiene procedures. Analysis are regularly performed on food, ice, water and surfaces, to discard the presence of viruses, bacteria or parasites. This is all logged. Also, our employees get tests to ensure they are in perfect health to handle food.

    There are many reasons why an ailment can occur while traveling, because the body needs time to adjust to water, food and air from other places, environmental allergens, and dietary changes, stress travel, among other factors. Please note that our resort's water and food are consumed by a large number of people, if any of these were contaminated, undoubtedly several guests and employees would be in the same condition.

    We hope that they recover soon and that you will give us another chance to reaffirm your faith in our hotel.
