You can buy an unlimited amount of products in specialty stores, department stores or in the stalls of the open-air markets in Bulgaria. In most places prices are already fixed, but in the markets a bit of bargaining does go on.
Major stores and clothing brands can be found in cities like Sofia and most popular tourist destinations like Nessebar and Burgas. There, visitors will find international brands and local boutiques.
Among Bulgarian handicrafts, there are a lot of wooden objects, colourful embroidered tablecloths, silver jewellery, leather accessories, musical instruments and dolls in national costumes or orthodox religious icons.
The national drinks are also purchased as a souvenir. There are many places where you can buy bottles of Bulgarian wine and fruit brandies. One of the most typical is bottles of rose essence.
