Hotels in Trinidad
The beaches in Trinidad do credit to what is always said about the Caribbean: endless tongues of sand covering several dozens of kilometres, lined by languishing coconut trees, the lukewarm water inviting visitors to take a splash. Ancón is the best-known beach, but there are also La Boca or María Aguilar and other heavenly sun and sea places that are worth discovering.
Main beaches in Trinidad
- Ancón beach: Many consider Ancón as the best beach in southern Cuba. Lying less than 15km away from the city of Trinidad, it features lavish vegetation – pines and palm trees – and is sheltered by the majestic mountains of Sierra del Escambray.
- La Boca beach: La Boca is one of the few beaches of its kind in Cuba – a small and secluded rocky cove drawing locals, far from the usual touristy spots in Trinidad. It opens up to meet the Caribbean below the sheltering mountains of Escambray, which can be admired from the sea.
- María Aguilar beach: This calm Caribbean beach on the peninsula of Ancón attracts water sports lovers, especially divers and snorkelers coming to take a look at the amazing underwater world blossoming here.
- Cayo Blanco de Casilda beach: Also on the peninsula of Ancón, Cayo Blanco de Casilda is a spectacular Caribbean beach on the east, close to the fully-equipped harbour of Casilda. The bay is a beautiful natural area offering great tourist services as well.
