"We would just like to say how much we enjoyed our visit to your Bouganville Playa hotel in Tenerife and give a special thanks to your manager Janier Lejarazu who could not have been more helpfull after we had a handbag stolen with tickets,passports and money all gone.He was a godsend to us along with Anne Cecile.Really don't know how we would have managed without them.Would love to stay at this hotel again."Rating: 10,0

A well located hotel with fabulous views. Good food, generally clean with polite and helpful staff. We feel disappointed that we had to pay extra in order to achieve the advertised four star rating and would willingly accept a voucher for the amount to
"Bouganvilla Playa would be a great hotel if it wasn't for the rooms. To offer the hotel as a four star is, in my opinion, a misrepresentation. We booked fourteen nights through our travel agent and on arrival were allocated room 242. To say it was tired is an understatement - it was thoroughly exhausted! The atmosphere in the room was one of overuse far beyond designed life. The furniture was faded and worn down to the chipboard and the walls were damaged and had not been decorated for years. Indeed, the decoration gave the room an air of eastern bloc hotels in the eighties. The bathroom had a shower whose support arm was hanging precariously on one screw and the enamel bath had three large chips out of the bottom and had been cleaned so many times the enamel was worn. Everywhere the surfaces were chipped and worn and faded from cleaning and overuse. The balcony table and chairs were grimy and beyond their useful life. The beds moved on their wheels so freely that it was impossible to sit up on them and the mini bar cupboard had a plastic ventilation grill that had no vanes left. The air conditioning worked but was next to useless. Leaving the room condition for a while, the rest of the hotel was acceptable. The dining room, although crowded at times, was bright and clean having been recently refurbished. There was a good choice of freshly cooked food and the staff, although rushed, were polite and helpful. Bars and seated areas were spacious if a little outdated. Twice, when asking specifically for Baileys, we were served an inferior product called Maloneys which was replaced on request. The morning after our arrival, we decided to approach the hotel management with a view to have a free upgrade on the basis that the rooms were really not as described. After taking advice, Manolo informed us that an upgrade was available but would have to be 38 euros per day extra. Having been shown around the refurbished areas and Prestige facilities we decided, reluctantly, to pay the additional amount as this was our first fortnight holiday for years and we didn't want it spoilt. Chalk and cheese does not describe the difference in the rooms. The room was well designed and specified but unfortunately with the same poor air conditioning. Our stay was pleasant and should we return we would ensure the allocation of a four star room rather than one that hardly deserved 2 stars. "Rating: 7,0
Staff was really good and friendly and lots of choice of food
"The only problem we had was at the start of our trip where we were originally booked in to La Dalias but on arrival was told they were over booked and was sent in to a taxi 2/5mins round the conner to the other Iberstar hotel in which we were told we were only there for one night. and we would have to talk to them in the morning that ruined the start of our holiday after talking to them the next day we were given the choice of staying there for the rest of our holiday by this point we lost the whole of that morning as well... but part from the rocky start that we had we enjoyed the rest of our stay!"Rating: 6,0

"Enjoyed a 4 week vacation Jan/Feb in this hotel,the staff were the most friendly and efficient I have experienced.The restaurants and public areas are spotlessly clean and spacious.
