IBEROSTAR Playa Mita
Our guests reviewsIBEROSTAR Playa Mita
"Stayed at your newest resort in Punta Mita. Great place and you did a good job training your staff as they were all very helpful and friendly for a resort that is so new. Beach access could use some work but the beach itself was good. My wife and I have vacationed numerous times on the Pacific side of Mexico at the Riu Palace in Neuevo and I would say our stay with you is a bit better than the Palace. Good job, keep up the good work. Thanks"Rating: 9,0
The staff, the view, the facility...great!
"Stayed during Feb 12-19. Treated like royalty from the moment we got in the taxi until we were dropped back off at the airport. Every single staff member that we came in contact with, literally blew us away with their kindness, friendliness, respect and impeccable work ethic. We started to check in and within 60 seconds were given a friendly Ola and a delicious cold drink! Andres at the front desk, this man bent over backwards for us, doing everything humanly possible to make sure we were happy. We truly hope he becomes management very soon. He was so organized and had a perfect system to do everything so quickly and correctly. He would be great in a training role for this company. Thank you Andres for everything, you're a great young man with a very bright future and I hope Iberostar sees in you what we did. Was a pleasure to meet you! Staff: Hands down, the best hotel staff we have ever encountered. Every staff member worked with such excellence. So friendly and engaging in conversation. We were served from sunrise to bed time with a smile. The Star friends worked tirelessly in the heat all day long, then were part of the entertainment for the 9:30pm shows, which were great! I will never see the Titanic the same way again, lol. The Michael Jackson and James Brown impersonators were incredible. We enjoyed water aerobics, salsa lessons, beach volleyball, beach soccer, kayak racing, etc. It is clear that they love to interact with and meet all the guests. Thank you Star friends for the good belly laughs and for getting us off our lounge chairs to have some FUN! Buffet waiters were amazing, even remembering our choice of breakfast juice. Again, so friendly and engaging. Thank you Jesus, Alejandro, Daniel & Octavio. Anything not in the buffet that we requested, they got it. We've never been served so well. Abril (concierge staff) was incredibly sweet and helpful. Felipe (excursion coordinator) was also incredible. My husband forgot his nice new golf hat at the ranch located 5 minutes down the road, Felipe worked his magic and got the hat back within the hour. Just another example of the swift service we received. The drink servers down by the beach and up by the pool walked miles per day in the heat, serving and picking up empties and did it all with a friendly smile. Food: Raoule (chef in the buffet) cooked us one of the best filet steaks we've ever had. Buffet has about 10 or more food stations with a variety of meats, salads, rice and potato dishes, cheeses, fruits, veggies, pizza, pasta, lunch meats, breads, desserts. Japanese restaurant, entertaining chef, delish food, great company. Empress was again delicious and we liked the quiet atmosphere. Buffet by the pool was great, can sit in your bathing suit and enjoy a great meal. Bar down by the beach was awesome for a snack of fries, burgers and/or hotdogs. Ordered room service a few times, food came within 10-15 minutes everytime. Facilites: Lounge chairs are super comfortable! Pool was a tad cool at first but incredibly refreshing. I loved that I could sit on the shallow "shelves" of the pool and sunbathe. Beach had lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas, never had a problem getting some shade. The beach was incredibly private, could walk the whole thing and maybe pass another couple along the way. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, nice electronic safe, great views. Wifi was touch and go within our rooms, but perfect in the lobby area. Bathrooms in every part of the resort were always very clean. Pictures: We met Laura on the beach (one of the resort photographers) and immediately we connected with her incredible personality. We had our pictures taken by her and when we were viewing them later that evening in the studio, we were getting a little emotional at how she captured us in those beautiful surroundings. Truly an artist, passionate about capturing the bond between a family. One of the best decisions we've made while at the resort. Other tidbits: Went to Sayulita for a few hours to shop and get in some culture. Was awesome, so close (15min taxi ride). Went zip lining at the ranch 5 minutes down the road. (quads and horseback riding also available there). View alone was worth the $$. Went jet skiing on site (cost extra). Vendors on the beach were so respectful when/if you said no gracias. It's actually a family that would sell their goods on the beach. We enjoyed meeting Jorge from whom we bought most of our stuff. Husband took free scuba diving lessons in the pool provided by a licensed diver from the surf shop down by the beach. Pool tables, computer room, gym available. Our one and only disappointment. No designated smoking areas. Most people lit up everywhere and anywhere with no consideration for other guests. I did notice a few guests would actually go off to the side to have a smoke. We greatly appreciated their awareness. Thank you Iberostar staff for a great escape from the cold Canadian winter! "Rating: 10,0
