We are grateful to experience this hotel. Thank you.

"We booked a last minute vacation and decided on Iberostar in PV because 1) it was brand new resort and 2) the price! We have never stayed at an Iberostar, however, I have heard wonderful things from people who had stayed at this chain of hotel elsewhere. Check in was great, we arrived late and because of our terrible flight and delay in landing the reception upgraded our room no charge. Our room was beautiful - overlooked the ocean and part of the resort. We tried all the a la carte restaurants and found them excellent! Having recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, I did find it a little difficult to navigate through the menu and choices as all seem to contain gluten aside from salad. I would suggest adding more gluten free items to your selections in the future. The buffet was delicious too, although I was surprised that there was not as abundant an amount of food as we have experienced in other resorts. I do understand though that there were only 200 guests at the resort so it is understandable that the selection was more limited than at full capacity. The service in all restaurants was excellent. Loved the Star entertainment team (Brian was amazing) and loved Moses as the instructor for the aqua gym. The entertainment team with their activities around the pool & dance lessons etc was thoroughly enjoyable, we participated in most. Diego was my partner for salsa lessons, I was a pro in 30 minutes :) I would have to say Brian Anderson? (not sure of the last name) stood out as a real leader. We loved the nightly entertainment, the big show in the theatre, and also the band in the lounge. Because we were there during the low season the pool was quiet, Ana, our server around the pool was excellent. Very attentive and prompt with our drinks. LOVED the taco's poolside - delicious! I believe the chef was Fernando.... Because our last day ended up being the beginning of a long weekend in Mexico, Independence Day, the resort went from 200 people to 1,000 in one morning. This was overwhelming for us as we had just had 6 glorious peaceful days then BAM....we felt like we were in the middle of a crowded daycare....families everywhere which I have no problem with but so many screaming kids around the pool. Ice cream cones dropped and melted on the walkways....food and drinks spilled everywhere, kids butting in front of us while we were getting our food at the buffet for lunch - definitely NOT how we wanted to spend our last day. Also the swim up bar was filled with kids sitting on the stools, adults only was not enforced at all- very disappointing. I would highly recommend the lower half of the pool or a section of the pool to be an adult only kid-free zone! Also, I think the beach needs to be brought up to Iberostar level of excellence. We entered the beach by the La Duna bar and grill. I did not like the walkway to enter the beach, the boards were uneven and I tripped twice, then you step down and it was unattractive.....there were big mounds of rock/dirt as a retainer wall seperating the resort rooms and the beach, also the chairs were haphazardly set up with umbrellas and the sand was dirty, blackish brown. The setup at the beach was equivalent to a 2-3 star hotel. We were not impressed. Most holidays we spend the majority of our time on the loungers at the beach but we did not do this once because of the dirty sand and unsafe walkway to the beach. Also, because of the time of year we had a few stormy rainy nights, which was not a problem at all. What was a problem was the slippery tile when it was wet. The staff worked tirelessly to remove as much water as possible but it was still so slippery. I would be shocked to learn that no one has slipped and seriously hurt themselves on that wet tile. "

"I went on a family vacation (9 people) to the Iberostar. The food was okay, not great, but there was enough to keep everyone happy. The beach is really nice and the pool is clean. Great for a family resort but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to party as it is definitely more catered to families. The theatre was a great experience as they had a different show every night, mostly for the kids. The alcohol was great as they had the option of premium liquor for the people with the all-inclusive package. The cigar bar had the best choices for higher end liquor (scotch, cognac, etc.) The biggest disappointment was the location of the rooms. The rooms we paid for were "Ocean View rooms" and we definitely did not get an ocean view room. According to the front desk, ocean view are the rooms that are not ground floor, even though they face the interior of the resort or the golf course. I tried to talk to the front desk to get an ocean view room and they said those rooms are only the suites. Nothing was done to rectify the situation and I just ended up spending a lot of time trying to talk to the staff about it, who didn't seem to care. Overall, it was a decent vacation but I don't think I would commit to going back again."

    Would definately return!!

"What an excellent resort!!! We had the pleasure of staying for a week starting Aug 16. We were greeted at the lobby by Gerardo, (one of the best bellboys there!) and Isis helped us check in. Very friendly from the start. Great staff all around. Trinidad in housekeeping, Felipe at the disco and Alonso at La Bahia breakfast/lunch. Resort is very clean and they are continually working to improve the grounds. Great food at the buffet and al a cartes. Great resort and am already planning my return trip!!"

    would not stay there again.

"Food wasn't that great. Women staff wouldn't help other women which I thought was rude. Floors in the rooms very slippery. ( almost fell a few times) Seemed that there was different rules depending on whether you where Mexican or Canadian..eg..we where kicked out of the pool area before 8 pm but Mexican got to stay!! Sometimes till ten pm.. Pool bar said closed at eight but really they closed at seven pm. Cleaning ladies where awesome!! Hope they get paid well..always helpful and happy.. Lots of pregnant workers to the point where I felt sorry for them..felt like I should have been tipping them more. Steak house was really good, if your going to eat that's the place. Lobby workers where also very friendly. Cost to go to town was $100.00us to go to town, one way."

My first time with the Ibersotar resort and loved every minute of it....

"Stayed at this wonderful resort week of August 25th.Although we couldn't enjoy the sea as much because the heavy tide, I really love the resort. The people working there are always smiling and nice. The fact that they have concierge on every floor simplifies the reservation process. They had upgrading us to ocean front also making our stay even more magical. The only downside is that the resort is far away for Puerto Vallarta so all the excursions takes more time to go and to come back but all together great vacation. "

"the resort is beautiful however there are some issues to keep in mind. they don't tell you that the cost from the airport to the resort is $100 usd each way. we paid $200.00 usd for our roundtrip from the airport to the resort and back. if you want to go into Puerto Villarta for a day again you will pay the taxi fare into the city and back which will run you about $200 again. when we arrived we immediately tried to get all the reservations out of the way for the dining and they told us that the steak house was reserved all the way till Saturday and we arrived on Tuesday leaving on Friday. we had to fight are way to get a reservation for the resturaunts and they keep saying its not available however half the resturaunts are empty. they try to push you towards the buffet rather then the resturaunts. My last complaint is on the beach every 5 minutes someone came up to us to sell us something. "
