Happy to be Back
"We liked it on 2012, and we still liked it on 2013. This resort gets a lot of frequent travelers. I met a family who has been back over 15 times! The hotel's facilities, staff and grounds are great. The star players of this resort are by far the beautiful beach and the jungle throughout the resort. My 3 and 7 year olds listed the animals as the best thing of our trip after the beach and playing on the waves, which are great for kids. My 3 year old wants to go back and see Mauricio (from the entertainment staff) and still sings the songs from zumba classes. The food is really good considering it is an all inclusive, I would not call my restaurant's dinners memorable, but they were definitely good. After days researching different resorts, I am glad we decided to return and save around $1,500 for the four of us by not staying at higher priced resorts. If you like luxury and great cuisine you could upgrade and stay somewhere else, but for my family it was perfect. Fun at the pool and beach with the kids, great ice cream kiosk, eight days of no cooking or doing dishes, and lots of umbrella drinks, need to say more?"Rating: 10,0
very good. As usual food was excellent ans was all the service and grounds/beach.
"Would have ranked it a 10 but we had booked and confirmed into the Tucan back in August and when we arrived we were put in the Quetzal. When we complained we were told there were no rooms in the Tucan? Even tho wee booked 6 months ago. Front desk was no help. We had to go to the Apple representative the next day and she got us moved to the correct area. Outside of that the experience was excellent as it was the previous 2 years. "Rating: 9,0
"We had stayed at the same resort twice before, but were disappoited this time. We were originally booked at Tucan, but when we arrived they did not have any rooms for us, so they moved us to the Qetzal side, which was fine, except the only building available was right next to the lobby. We said we would prefer to be further into the resort, but would stay there temporarily. After two days they moved us, but our new room had problems. The television didn't work properly and the shower temperature could not be adjusted. We notified the desk several times and the person at the desk was always very friendly, but nothing ever got fixed. We have stayed at several Iberostars over the years (Tucan, Qetzal, Cozumel, Paraiso Del Mar, Punta Cana) and have enjoyed them, but we will probably think twice before we book another one. "We loved our time at this resort, had family on the Tucan side, worked out great. Maid had our toilet fixed without waiting for us to call! All the people working here were friendly, helpful and very hard working. Food was excellent, property well cared for. Only problem was that by the end of our week we were so sore because of the "concrete" bed, I think an extra foam pad on top of the mattress would help soften the bed.
