IBEROSTAR Paraíso Beach
Our guests reviewsIBEROSTAR Paraíso Beach
"My stay at Iberostar Paraiso Beach was very enjoyable. Food was nicely prepared and served. Room cleaning was excellent. My ranking is a strong 9 out of 10 - attention to detail in a few areas would make for a 10 ranking. The concierge line is far too long all of the time. Iberostar Paraiso Beach has one concierge desk with typically two staff members sitting at the desk. Two desks (each with a computer terminal) would provider shorter waiting time and faster service for guests. While I appreciate the need for the resort to keep dinner reservations available for incoming guests, for guests who have already used up their allotted dinner reservations (e.g. 3 for 7-day stay), it would be far better for the resort to maintain a daily waiting list instead of having guests wait for half an hour in the concierge line to try to get a same-day reservation. Furthermore, the communication from staff was not clear on the precise time to attempt the same-day reservation. On one visit to the concierge desk, I was informed to seek my same-day reservation before 4pm. Then I was told it has to be from 4pm to 5pm. And on another ocassion, someone else in my group was told between 1:30pm and 2:00pm. This loose information needs to be made firmer and clearer. In my country Canada, I am used to smoke-free environments. Smokers have designated areas which are far away from the smoke-free environments. I found way too much smoke for my liking. For example, having the beach smoking area near the food and drink area is not good. Similar comments for smoking areas in the bars and lobby. In one room, the in-room safe was faulty and had to be replaced. In another room, the in-room safe had to be reset by staff due to some issue. During my stay, I witnessed a staff member carrying a replacement safe. Get a safe with better electronics, or better yet without electronics. There are a lot of rocks underwater on your beach. I suspect it is not feasible for Iberostar to remove those rocks, but communication to guests would be helpful to avoid that first exposure to rocks jamming toes while struggling with the waves."Rating: 9,0
"We spent a week at Iberostar Pariaso Beach on the Mayan Riviera. We arrived at 8:00am and unfortunately our room was not ready. We were supposed to be on the Del Mar side but we did not want a ground floor so the front desk changed us over to the Beach side. Besides not getting into our room until almost 2:00 I can't say a bad thing about this resort. The food was great, the drinks were plentiful and the staff was great. The entertainment was amazing. We loved it. I guess if we had to complain it would be about the size of the resort. We were in the second last building which was great for the beach/pool access but a long way from the lobby and buffets. I didn't mind the walking...helped to wear off all the calories but my husband doesn't walk a lot and he didn't have great shoes. The carts didn't come by as often as we were told. Over all we loved our stay there and would recommend this resort to others."Rating: 10,0
"We stayed at the Iberostar Beach resort Riviera Maya in early Feb. This was our first stay at an Iberostar Resort having previously stayed at other Riviera Maya all inclusive resorts. The first impression was good upon arrival. Although we felt that the room assigned seemed a little outdated, everything was clean and nice. In general we enjoyed our stay although there were a numerous amount of small annoyances that made the stay less than perfect. The main issues related to: * WC in the room kept acting up, and one night we had to call three times before a maintenance person came to fix the problem. * The TV in the room was not picking up any channels and was addressed by a maintenance technician having to come and reprogrammed the unit, not an issue if we were not travelling with two young children who wanted to watch something during down time. * The beach restaurant was supposed to be open at 7. On two occasions by 7:30 am there was still no coffee available, and guest after guest was coming and checking * I enquired about going windsurfing (one if the included water sports) and was told that there was not enough wind. Come back later. When I came back the next day I was informed that there was no windsurfing due to a lack of boards ( the sails were clearly visible on the beach) * Compared to my experience at other Maya Riviera resorts I felt there was a lack of customer service, and some staff almost acted inconvenienced when a request was made. Usually people are so friendly at the resorts, I did not have that same feeling here. * The reception person who checked us out made a number of mistakes while trying to enter our credit card information that resulted in three failed tries and the bank blocked my card. When I requested to call my bank I was told I could only call from the room and that I would be billed for long distance charges. * While realizing that everything costs more when purchased at a resort we felt gouged having to pay $35 US for a small bottle of sun block at the pool side resort store having run out during our stay. On the 2nd last day of our stay our room was only half cleaned when we came back in the afternoon. As if someone was interrupted half way and forgot to finish the job.. While the issues listed above are fairly minor in the big scheme of things (food was good, good mohitos) it did dampen what could have been an even better experience. Based on my stay I would recommend another similar priced resort were we felt the customer service was better and the resort more modern and updated. "Rating: 8,0

"J'ai adore la proprete de l'hotel ainsi que ces jardins. Le staff etait correct et poli. Un souper a la carte aurait ete apprecie. La douche de notre chambre avait peu de pression d'eau mais l'eau chaude n'a pas manquee..."Rating: 7,0
