Excellent resort, excellent and friendly service
"As a fan of the Iberostar chain of Hotels & Resorts for many years and a past multiple repeat client of Iberostar Costa Dorada since they opened, as well a Iberostar Paraiso Lindo and Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus we (2 couples) decided to go to Iberostar Bavaro for our annual Iberostar vacation. We were there for 2 weeks from Dec 8 to 22. As expected, we were not disappointed in the Iberostar quality of service and amenities. We had a slight issue with the room assigned upon arrival (on a busy path close to the Snack bar/Steak house) and Karen at the front desk was extremely helpful in changing our room the next morning to 1271. A most excecellent choice on her part considering we were looking for a quiet area where we could sit on the terrace in the early mornings and late nights. Thank you Karen. Senora Clara was the housekeeper for our block and she did a fabulous job in ensuring that everything was perfect in our room, she would come around in the evenings and wish me a good evening... Mr. Dejan G. please ensure she is told how personable and good she is. Gilbert and Geraldo(Geraldinho) at the beach and pool bar knew how to make our favorite drinks. I cannot remember the name of the bar waitress in the main lobby bar in the evenings...she is tall .... and she was fabulous remembering exactly what we liked the minute we arrived and sat down. Chef Alexandra is great and has a great sense of humor... also going around every day asking people if they are satisfied with the food. We were also approached by a number of staff leaders and managers asking for our opinions and feedback, which i think is great. Food: Overall, we could find no fault with the food and choices in the buffets. We did mention to chef Alexandra that what was missing at Iberostar Bavaro was the Dominican Corner. In IB Costa Dorada we always ate something (or sometimes most of our meals) from the Dominican corner in the buffet. Dominican food is excellent and should be promoted more. We enjoyed all the A la cartes we went to except for the Mediterranean which needs a total revamp. The lighting, colour scheme is the type you would find in a fast food restaurant which destroys the ambiance, and which I am sure is the reason why the staff in that the Mediterranean restaurant were not as pleasant as the other a la carte restaurants. Our favorite was the gourmet "La coupole"...we went there twice it was so good. Beach: perfect, they do have the best beach in the area, and the cleanest one too. Security is very good (especially when Elvis was on watch from very early in the morning to early afternoon). Our favorite spot was close to the Grande. We were not bothered, not even once, by beach vendors. Pool: looked very clean and did not look crowded based on the design and layout around the pool. Did go to the kid's pool in order to get "dunked" by the big bucket of water.... My husband got great pictures as the force of the water made me land on my behind with legs up in the air...Great fun !!!! Cannot comment much on pool amenities however as we spent our time on the beach. Star Friends: Great...funny and respectful of whether or not we decided to participate in an activity or not. Did play bingo a few times.... Summary: we do highly recommend this resort. and we will most certainly return."
