"On arrival we requested a disabled room to which we previously had sent an email we went to the front desk and informed them and was quickly put into accommodation suited to our needs. We found the room maid to be very friendly and most efficient. We thought the standard of care and food in the restaurant was above our expectations. the only area we thought was lacking were the entertainment team who seemed to be wrapped up in their own little world they should do a lot more meeting and greeting to make it all inclusive and sell their games and activities a lot harder."Rating: 9,0
"My wife and I stayed at the Royal and Mansour Hotel in Mahida for a week in July and our overall rating of the whole holiday was just fantastic. We are discerning consumers and it is very rare that we have nothing negative to comment on. Firstly the flights out and back were all on time and the flight staff nice and friendly. We pre-ordered the James Martin in flight meals and they were the best in flight meals I’ve ever eaten. Aircraft seats are always a problem for me as I’m six three and a big lad but the meal made being cramped quite bearable. The transfer to and from the Hotel was 2 hours each way and this was probably a low point as the vehicles were Tunisian people carriers which were uncomfortable due my height and because Tunisian driving is like an Alton Towers ride in any case. Our first sight of the hotel was impressive; it has a huge front portico with a lofty reception area. The staff were friendly and helpful immediately and we were very pleased with our room which was sea facing. The rooms on the other side of the hotel had an interesting view of the town so no problem there either. Plenty of air con in the room with a safe and all the mod cons. Nice balcony with view of the sea and pool. Before we went on holiday we saw some reviews that said the food was a bit samey. We did not find this at all; the choices were varied and covered a range of international tastes with something new for every meal. Not bad when they are catering for 1000 people with over 20 nationalities. There was just tons of food and we ate one night in the a la carte restaurant as part of the all inclusive deal which was just as good. There was food available all day from the bars and the cafe and drinks on tap with local beer and spirits. We particularly enjoyed the cocktail bar. The Thomas Cook Rep Philip was really nice with a good informative introduction and a great guided tour of the town for fairly minimal cost. I liked the fact that he wasn’t trying to push lots of trips on us and indeed this encouraged us to go for a morning to El Djem to see the amphitheatre and this is a real must see. Our waiters in the restaurant and the cocktail bar were very good but on the second day I took the plunge and tipped them both. This turned subsequent visits from good to outstanding and for a small tip each day, a couple of dinars, they would spot us coming, have a table ready and serve our favourite drinks. It was a really nice touch for a minimal investment. The hard work put in by the staff was more evident given that we went there in Ramadan and many were fasting during the day whilst continuing to serve us with every food and drink under the sun. The pools are clean, interesting with waterfalls and fountains and the indoor pool was freezing which was just the ticket in 44 degree heat. There are pool guys who come around with iced flannels and mint tea all the time. One of the lasting memories we have is the outstanding entertainments “Animation” team. They worked so hard all day and every evening and deserve a huge amount of praise and a pay rise. They did volley ball, yoga, step and aqua aerobics, archery, boules and more. At night they performed really top quality shows in the open air arena with such energy and enthusiasm. Just awe inspiring and it really made our holiday. All in all a brilliant holiday with wonderful service and entertainment and to top it all off there is a massive thalassotherapy spar in the hotel which does the most amazing 3 hour massage, seaweed and Turkish bath treatments. Just wonderful, would recommend highly and go back again. "Rating: 10,0
"Amazing hotel, beautiful and very clean, lovely pools and very good service. All our family had a wonderful holiday. Our rep Phillip was great, a credit to Thomas Cook and the Royal El Mansour. Most of the staff were very friendly and looked after us very well throughout our holiday. The animation team were so nice, very hard working and really friendly, we enjoyed taking part in the daytime activities. Some evening shows were better than others, the only criticism would be that during the shows they left the stage for too long between sketches and this did cause us and others to lose interest sometimes. The food was good, but did get a bit repetitive by the end of the holiday, this was the only reason I didn't rate the hotel 10 out of 10. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would definitely come back and recommend it to others! "Rating: 9,0

Fantastic Hotel, really good resort and outstanding service.
"The Hotel was a fantastic self contained resort and we could not have wished for anything better. The room and public areas both inside and out were maintained to a very good standard. The food and the choice was excellent. The only negative thing for me was that I needed some first aid and t he first aid kit was virtually non existant and for a Hotel with nearly a thousand people in it this was very poor."Rating: 10,0
