Good but hotel needs an overhaul
"* Food was basic in first four days, however,it improved substantially after that * Location perfect for active retired couple. Nice walks etc. * Unimpressive foyer and reception area and furnishings etc. in need of replacement * Room spacious but dated. In need of refurbishment * Excellent service and staffing in all areas. Excellent manager!! * Friendly ambience * We would consider going back to this hotel if the food were to be consistently good and the decor/furnishings and general look of the hotel were to be modernised/refurbished and not so shabby!! * The Animation team did their best entertainment wise, however, the entertainment generally wasn't really good enough in the evenings. The young animation team were excellent, however, around the pool. They were friendly and helpful in every way and are a great resource for the hotel * We liked the 'star gazing' very much and that would encourage us to maybe consider this hotel again, however, it would need to be structured better. Better use could be made of good quality telescopes so as to maximize viewing time. I'm not sure if the seminar was necessary since reading material could have been given prior to the viewing to those interested. Certainly, I/we were only interested in looking through the telescope as we have already read up on these things. Great idea and well worth developing!!! Would like to be kept informed about developments in this and could be persuaded to return if good quality star-gazing facilities/opportunities were on offer. Great innovation!!! "Rating: 7,0
Never again an Iberostar hotel
"First the positive things: very good location, next to the wonderfull Marina Rubicon and walking distance from the Papagoya beaches. Also nice swimming pools and good service from the staff. The negative things: - food was a big disappointment, it is very cheap and simple and every day about the same. After 2 - 3 days starts to get boring. It is not very tastefull either. I finished eating almost evey day pizza and ice cream, the rest was not very tastefull. Also the "showcooking" is poor and almost not existing. - sun beds : there were enough, but many were in bad condition and some (the ones next to the swimming pools) were covered with a kind of blue garbage bag cover. Also very often dirty. I found this disgusting. Maybe this was because of the people using them, but the hotel should clean them. - sun umbrella's: to few available ! I don't understand, this is of almost no cost for a hotel and yet there are not enough. And unless you want to get burned, you need them ! - rooms: we were in the apartments (other side of the street). Enough space for us but bathroom in poor condition and needs renovation. Especially the shower needs work, as well as the bath. Air conditioning: did work, I mean you heard something blowing, but it was not cold air :-( . Beds were "strange": mattress was not of very good quality. This hotel would better announce itself as a 3* instead of the fake 4* ! If I would have payed for a 3* and if they would have announced it as a 3*, then maybe I would have been a bit more happy, but saying this is 4* is almost fraud. Last year we stayed at Barcelo Santiago, same price but 100x better. "Rating: 1,0
Nice stay, just a pity of the chairs !
"The lobby en the poolarea need a make over. The chaires at the pool are not inviting to lie there.Very friendly people at the reception !If you arrive during the night, you can only drink water at your room and that water is not cool !!!"Rating: 8,0
