Our guests reviewsIBEROSTAR Papagayo
We shall continue to use Iberostar hotels and could you supply a list of those where ballroom dancing is available as that would assist our choice .
"For the thitd year in a row we have used Iberostar hotels. WE have always found the standard very good. Unfortuneately we had to cut short our stay this year due to the death of my brother but for the period we were there in Lanzarote Papagayo it was very nice. The room we had with a sea view was excellent and the chef very helpful with my ceoliac diet. I found the staff who organised the entertainment very helpful and could not do more to help make the holiday enjoyable. The one thing missing which we had at the Playa De Muro in Majorca was the choice of live music and ballroom dancing in the evening, which my wife and I enjoy. I am sure we shall be booking one of the Iberostar hotels next year and may well return to the Iberostar. Last year we were at the Royal Playa De Palma which was most enjoyable as well but could possibilly have done with refurbishment which I beleive was due to happen last January. I therefore wish to say thank you for your service and very helpful staff. We have one of your 2012 brochures so if you have an updated copy please send to. Less than satisfactory.
"We booked to stay at the Iberostar Papagayo via Thomas Cook website. The hotel and rooms looked very nice via the online brochure. We booked a family room and there was no reference in our booking confirmation to being placed in a Family apartment in a separate complex across the road from the main hotel. The look and feel of this apartment was below what I was expecting. During the course of the week we found there was insufficient hot water to sustain a family of 4 showering after a day of sunbathing. On one day we had no water at all (in common with all families in the complex!!). Finally my biggest gripe is about the restaurant dress code. I have travelled extensively booking into many 4 star hotels and have never been told I must wear long trousers for dinner. I could understand this if it were a fine dining experience but the food was basic and lacked imagination. There was nothing in my online booking confirmation that advised of this dress code. I will not be making any further bookings at the Papagayo."Rating: 5,0
"Just returned from a week's break in Iberostar Papagayo, Lanzarote. We had an apartment overlooking the pool and stayed on an all inclusive basis. There was plenty of choice of food and the bottled wine at lunch time and dinner time was good. There were some really nice touches - being greeted at reception with a glass of juice; waiters offering fruit/cocktails/sweets around the pool etc. The animation team were outstanding and a particular mention should go to Billy. The only negative we could say was the beds - they were very hard and uncomfortable."Rating: 8,0
We had a pleasant stay but I would not recommend or return and would be hesitant to stay at another Iberostar hotel elsewhere.
"Bad points - bathroom did not have an extractor fan and main room did not have a bin - the room safe should be free of charge - hotel decor is in need of updating, the rooms and common areas felt very dated, curtains and shower curtain in room had mildew, carpets in corridors were very worn - main reception and lobby felt dark and dreary - the rule of no reserving sunbeds with towels was not enforced - restaurant could have benefited from having "themed nights" (i.e. BBQ, Mexican, etc.) and a Canarian section instead of having a bit of everything at each mealtime which felt samey, also better labelled dishes instead of a few ingredients being listed, noticed cross-contamination with handling raw and cooked chicken - new toaster in restaurant! - hotel entertainment felt amateur and "dated" Good points - hotel was very clean - all staff were helpful and polite - quiet location"Rating: 7,0
