Beaches: Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria’s beaches are a symbol of this wonderful island, a unique feature of its Atlantic soul. Gran Canaria is considered to be the paradise of eternal summer and the ideal place for peaceful sun and sea holidays. There are dozens of beaches, from extensive sands like Maspalomas to small pebble beaches like Tasarte.
Main beaches in Gran Canaria
- Maspalomas beaches: This coastal resort on the south side of the island is famous for its extensive stretches of gold sandy beach and its excellent facilities. Playa de Maspalomas is a long tongue of sand divided into areas for kids, nudists, couples… Very close is Inglés beach, which welcomes surfers, and San Agustín, a quiet and secluded natural oasis.
- Mogán beaches: Next to Maspalomas, the village of Mogán extends westwards and has heavenly beaches like Amadores, Taurito or lonely Tasarte. All of them have a moderate swell, and even the wildest of them boast facilities to meet the needs of holidaymakers.
- Las Palmas beaches: The beaches in the capital of Gran Canaria are beautiful and usually pretty crowded. Las Canteras is one of the best known and most popular sands. It is easily accessed because it stretches along the whole town, offering a friendly and young atmosphere. Alcaravaneras lies next to the Real Club Náutico and is a stone’s throw distance from cool bars and clubs.
