Our guests reviewsIBEROSTAR Cozumel
Overall - We had a great time.
"Hotel was clean, staff very friendly. WIFI was not included and very expensive. We were obliged to buy a full hour, and that would accommodate only one device; we could not share. Very frustrating. There is a monopoly taxi service on the island that is very "un-user-friendly". One way into town for 2-4 people was $20. Our group was six, so we had to pay $40, but it was the same size van regardless. We might have gone into town and spent money there, but not for $80. The hotel is unable to offer a shuttle service, and even the dive shop we used was not allowed to pick us up at the hotel, or they would be fined $500 for taking passengers. Overall, the hotel was fine, but we wouldn't go back to Cozumel unless the transportation issue is sorted out."Rating: 8,0
Good hotel, rooms need updating, food only ok, diving was amazing. Not a 5 star, maybe 3.5-4.
"Overall, good vacation. I have been to several Iberostars, including the Grand Rose Hall Jamaica, as well as Cozumel years ago. At Cozumel, Staff was very nice, and service was good. Dining room service could have been more attentive. Staff at the dive shop was really great, as was the diving. The grounds were great, very well kept, the vegetation and animals were cool. The food was ok, not anything special. The food variety was not good;I even heard one guest say "why aren't they feeding us tonight?" (Jan 1st dinner) I would say the food was a 6/10. The rooms were clean but need to be updated. I really like the style of the hotel which is small walk up units rather than a big hotel with elevators. The beach was nice, but of course one cannot really swim at the beach because of the coral. This was disappointing. One adult in our group of 13 commented that the pool was very loud and he wanted a separate pool without all the aerobics and games ie a quieter area for those who want to relax without noise. Overall a pretty good vacation, went mostly for sun and diving, which were both good. The hotel rooms need to be updated and the food definitely is not up to par with other resorts. We travel a lot and probably have been to at least 15 all inclusive's over the years. Would go back just for the diving, or might try another resort nearby with better food. "Rating: 7,0
"Our group had the pleasure of staying at the Iberostar in Cozumel. During our stay Hurricane Rina formed and headed for us. The staff at the resort informed us that they would be need to evacuate off the island. What we didn't realize at the time was that your staff would take care of us like family and make sure everone was taken care of personally. They arrainged our transport to the mainland to another beautiful Iberostar in Playa Carmen. There, the staff was as friendly and attentive as are the staff in Cozumel. We were so happy with how nice our vacation turned out even during the adversity of the weather, thanks to all at Iberostar. One employee in paticular that we want to give a special thanks to is a gentleman named Nestor Cifuetes for his attention to detail that was above and beyond expectations! When traveling in the future we will look for an Iberostar as a first choice for lodging.Sincerly,Larry Bergman & Gail Brown"Rating: 9,0
Had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much.
"Everyone treated us so nicely. We enjoyed getting to talk to some of the employees and learning more about them. The lobby was a nice place to gather and enjoy each others company. One small thing we noticed is that the lobby looked a little shabby. Maybe something as small as new lampshades would have been an improvement. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was very good and a very nice variety."Rating: 9,0
A wonderful entertaining trip.
"The staff was amazing! Always friendly, polite, and entertaining. The food was good, the room was very nice. I was incredibly grateful that we had a room close to the pool/ beach. The Star friend team are an incredible group of people. They made our trip the fun experience it was. The only thing that I could say would have improved our experience was the food at the intercontinental restaurant was very salty and greasy. It would also have been nice if the jacuzzi was open later."Rating: 9,0
"The status of Hurricane Rina was only communicated on a small easel at the front desk. With the potential severity of the approaching hurricane, there should have been constant communication to each room on the status of the hurricane. When we evacuated, many people did not know about the hurricane. You need to be much more proactive on such serious happenings."Rating: 5,0
