REGIONAL FOOD
  Eating With Your Hands

Cous cous and tagine are the two most famous dishes in Morocco. However, in the Agadir area where the ocean provides an added richness to the food, there are many more options that are just as good or perhaps even better. Remember that most dishes are eaten without a knife and fork and bread is used as a substitute.

Cous cous is made with durum-wheat semolina and mixed with stewed vegetables, meat, fish or chicken. It is a unique dish.

Tagine is the most commonly eaten dish in Morocco. It is a tender meat or fish stew with aromatic herbs, seasoned with poached vegetables. This dish is cooked in a cone-shaped clay pot, which is placed on heated coals.

Kefta: meatballs made with minced meat and seasoned with herbs and mint.

Restaurants:
Jardin d'eau: a very pleasant atmosphere and good food.
Jazz restaurant: serves international food and provides musical entertainment.
Mezzo mezzo: serves the best pizzas in a Zen-like atmosphere.
Le Miramar: specialises in fish from Agadir.
